Welcome to The American West Weather Spring is just about here. The snow, where it should be, is melting and making the ground muddy. In the deserts, it's beginning to warm up again. Keep watch, in a few weeks the plants will start budding. The cacti will soon start growing the flowers. Well that was a crisis and a half. The first AW board got deleted so here's another one for you, hopefully not braking any proboard TOS rules and such. What boards are here at the moment are what I (Tiggs) can remember. Don't worry, it won't stay that boring for long. If you used to own a group board, and there are A LOT I can't remember, then post a new group form in the join section. Those group boards that are there, I need the descriptions sent to me (or HL) again. Okay, so new members, head to the "Rules" and "Join" sections and follow the instructions given there. Easy. Old members that were here before, just plonk up your characters forms in the join section and carry on where you left off. Sorry for the waffle... 1853 News Woo, our first offspring! A long sprign travels and twists all through the terra. The hole thing is covered in soft green grass but soemtimes the hills and suck lack in growth of trees and the grass isn't as lush. There is many trees on the flat area and this is unusual for a place out west. Aspen Pines Herd A large valley surronded by trees and mountians. A crystal clear river runs through the center of the valley. Aspen trees and pine trees stand tall and scattered through the land. The lands are very protected, and the grass is very green and sweet. The herds here grow strong, and are a great force to contend with, but they do not choose sides. The name of the herd means “Dawn’s Shadow” in Irish, and the herd indeed has it’s light and dark points to it. Unclaimable Lands Healing Springs The water of the Healing Springs comes from deep underground, gathering minerals from the rocks as it forces it's way to the surface. The pool that gathers by the springs is said to aid healing if bathed in, the Shaman also lives here and will help all those that seek him... The stream gets wider as it winds through sparse trees to reach it's destination... The water gets more and more murky as it crosses the dusty plain, depositing silt on the way. The undercurrents are fast so be careful when crossing... Teke Rapids The Teke Rapid foam and roar over large stones, bordered on the northern side by a large cliff. It is impossible to swim in and if you get caught in the currents, the pleantyful rocks are sure to cause you serious damage... The water becomes calmer once it leaves the pool but the noise of the falling water can be heard from miles around... The water is somewhat unfresh but it is cool and winter can freeze the almost mile-wide lake to a solid mass but beware of weak spots... Fulieo Meadow Wildflowers and long grass grown here in abandon, shaded by a ring of trees and sheltered from the prairie winds, the meadow is teeming with smaller animals, rodents and deer, and the more delicate plants have a chance to grow... During summer there is almost unbarable heat but winter can bring deep snow and freezing temperatures. Animals that are fleet and sure of foot reside here, grazing on the grass that still lingers between the rocks. Shadow Cave Buried within the mountain range, the Shadow Cave offers a good sleeping place for many animals, with easy access and deep tombs to explore. Snow peaked tips glisten in the heated sunlight and runoffs gather and trickle down the mountain to gather on the plains, feeding the grasses with water.
